Louise (Greene) Fleischmann, 92, of North Andover passed away surrounded by her loving family January 18, 2016 at the Meadows at Edgewood Retirement Community. She was the widow of Alfred J. Fleischmann.
Born in Bristol, CT, Louise was the daughter of the late David E. Greene and Winifred (Murphy) Greene. She spent most of her life in the Lawrence area, attending the Lawrence Schools graduating with High Distinction from Lawrence High School Class of 1940. Later, she graduated from Boston University with a degree in Biology and Chemistry.
Louise taught in Newtown, CT and the Methuen Junior High School. She then stayed home to raise her four children returning later to teach and retire from Lawrence High School.
Family, teaching, and travelling were her loves. Louise was a member of the St. Claire League of Catholic Women, the College Club of Greater Lawrence, Ladies Auxiliary of the Order of the Hibernians, Hampton Seniors and multiple Bridge groups.
Louise was predeceased by her sister Winifred Greene Casey, brother David E. Greene, and her granddaughter Sandra J. Fleischmann Ball. She is survived by two sons John D. Fleischmann and his wife Shirley of Leesburg, FL and William G. Fleischmann of Sandown, NH and two daughters Karin W. and husband Carl Reilly of Punta Gorda, FL and Nancy L. and husband Gary Benson of Youngsville, NC plus grandchildren John J. Willis III, Michael W. Fleischmann, Elin W. Szymanowski, and Adam R. Szymanowski, MD, as well as great-grandchildren Abigail Willis and John J. Willis IV, and her sister-in-law, Sheila Greene, niece Mary G. Haire and nephew Christopher Greene.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA. 01845. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
