Lowell W. Freeman, 83, of Medway, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of T. Doreen “Rene” (Shannon) Freeman since 1954.
Born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on May 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Jess and Eva Mae (Pruett) Freeman.
Mr. Freeman was a resident of Medway since 1962 and proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Before his retirement, he worked at General Motors in Framingham for many years.
Mr. Freeman was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1526 in Medway. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by daughter Paula Bonina and her husband John of Bellingham, son John Freeman and daughter Patti Freeman, both of Medway and daughter Laura Stephansky of Franklin, eight grandchildren, Brett and Bryan Bonina, Alycia Ostreicher, Shaun, Shannon and Ryan Smith and Jessica and Sara Stephansky and seven great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Annetta Cianciulli and Lynda Longmire, both of Stoneham.
He was the brother of the late Jearlan and Lavon Freeman and Loretta Franks.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, January 22 at Noon in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:30 p.m.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5 – 7 p.m.
