Dorothy Mary (Higgins) Moreau, 80, of New Bedford died Tuesday June 14, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of retired New Bedford firefighter Louis R. Moreau; they were married for 60 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Edward A. Higgins and Ellen P. (Knowles) Knudsen, she had lived in New Bedford all of her life and spent her summers on Cuttyhunk.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Mark Roland Moreau of Lakeville; two daughters, Dorothy Ann Cavender of Bourne and Ellen Louise Moreau of Dartmouth; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Ellen Veeder.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Thursday June 16, 2005 at 7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM, prior to the Service.
