TAUNTON – Florinda Manuela (da Silva) Faria, beloved wife of Francisco de Faria, died surrounded by her family at her Taunton home on Jan. 15, 2016.
She was 71.
Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel I. and Florinda (Pereira) da Silva.
She was educated and married in the Azores and moved to Taunton in 1969.
Mrs. Faria worked for several manufacturing companies and retired from the former Eureka Manufacturing Co. in Norton.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was loved by all who met her and her big heart, delicious food and quirky personality will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Faria leaves a daughter, Elizabeth Faria and her husband Sandeep Gupta of North Easton; two sisters, Leotilde Silva of Taunton and Angela DaCosta of Bristol, RI; a brother and sister-in-law; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She was also the sister of the late John and Manuel da Silva, Maria Vargas and Etelvina Moitoso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church on Tuesday, Jan. 19th at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
