Obituary

Walter H. Tucker, 74, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, January 18, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Steve Hand, the Rev. Howard Kitchens, the Rev. Kenneth Pike, and the Rev. Farise Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Tucker was born May 13, 1941, to the late Ralph & Gladys Black Tucker. He spent his working career in the automotive parts industry having worked at Ben Hill Auto Parts before co-owning the business. Since 1991, he owned and operated Walt’s Auto Parts. He loved to hunt and farm and had a passion for John Deere tractors. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cynthia Pike Tucker of Fitzgerald; his two daughters: Terri Lynn Tucker of Fitzgerald and Tina Tucker of Fitzgerald and her fiancé Kevin Sapp of Adel; two sisters: Shirley Melton of Lakeland and Gail Knight of Fitzgerald; and a brother-in-law, Dean & Carolyn Troup of Sycamore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Troup and Ruth Tiller.
