WORCESTER-Varantsov Azizian, 81,of Watertown formerly of Worcester and Boylston passed away after complications from multiple strokes Saturday, January 16 at the Tippett Hospice House in Needham.
His wife, Arpenik (Minassian) Azizian passed away in 2009. He leaves behind a son, Shavarsh Azizian of Watertown; a daughter-in-law, Lusia Azizian; three grandchildren, Arpine, Hrach and Hermene as well as his great-granddaughter, Lucine Yacuzzi and many more friends and family.
Varantsov was born in Armenia and came to America with his wife and son in 1979. He was an extremely family driven individual and always made sure he took care of them and protected them. Varantsov was a man who was known for being extremely creative and very talented with his hands. Along with his wife and son, Shavarsh, they opened up Guarantee Jewelers, which later became Shavarsh Jewelers in Worcester, where they would all work together until it's closing in the mid 2000's. Varanstov or Pop as he was affectionately known, was always there to offer a smile or to lend a helping hand.
Varantsov may be gone but he shall never be forgotten and will be remembered always and his legacy shall be carried on by his only son and all of his grandchildren. He passed with his best friend by his side, his son Shavarsh. We love you and will forever miss you.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 20 from CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Service at 11:00 AM in the Armenian Apostolic Holy Trinity Church, 635 Grove Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Immediately following the burial a memorial dinner will be held at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 19 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home with a Dahngark service at 6:00 PM.
