Obituary


SANFORD- Harry James Wallace, age 72, passed away on Jan. 14, 2016 at Seaside Nursing Home in Portland.
He was born in Hollis on Feb. 3, 1943, son of the late Everett and Imogene (McCleese) Wallace.
Harry attended Hollis schools and went on to proudly serve in the US Army.
For many years, Harry was employed at Westland Shoe.
He enjoyed playing Bingo, dancing, salvaging junk for spare money, and his dog Jolene.
He is predeceased by a step son- Jerry Cluff; and sisters- Valdina Allen, Marlene Harmon and Winonah “Nonie” Bickford.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife and dear companion- Grace “Judy” (Ladd) Wallace of Sanford; sister- Thelma Reed; an aunt- Florence; step daughters – Jude and Jaye; many cousins; many nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and many step grandchildren.
He will always be remembered as a giving person who always put the needs of others before himself and he will also be remembered for his saying “I'm not going to worry about it.”
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at South Buxton (Tory Hill) Cemetery.
