Florence M. (Mayo) Vashaw, 85, of Berlin passed away on Tuesday January 12, 2016 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was born in Berlin on January 26, 1930 the daughter of the late Roland W. and Antoinette M. (Berube) Mayo and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of T.O.P.S. Club for over 38 years and was a member of the Northern Valley Church of Christ in Lancaster. She loved spending time her family playing skip-bo and also loved giving triple hugs. She will be dearly missed.
Family includes her children Cynthia Demers and husband Ronald of Berlin, Janet King and her husband Dan of Plymouth and Joe Peters and his wife Laurel of North Conway; grandchildren Thomas Legassie, Sarah Legassie, Jessica King, John King, Jennifer King, Nicole Peters and Joseph Peters; great grandchildren Kristen Goyette and Brady Legassie; sister Mary Schneider of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harold D. Vashaw in 1991, a son Wilfred R. Peters, a brother Lawrence Mayo and a sister Constance M. Mayo.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at 1 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11 AM until 1 PM, prior to the service.
