Obituary

WAYLAND: Bernard Krasnick, 93, died Jan. 12, 2016 in the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland.
Mr. Krasnick was an electrical engineer, retired from Digital Equipment Corp. He also had worked for Raytheon, on early radar technology, and for Honeywell early in the computer age.
Born in New York City, he was a son of Mary (Zangwill) and Max Krasnick. He was a graduate of City College of New York and a student well into his retirement. He loved reading, sailing, math and science, and history.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Signal Corps during World War II. After the war he lived in Washington, D.C., where he met and married Edith Holt. He lived in Wayland more than 50 years.
He leaves two sons, Martin Krasnick and his wife Diane of Acton, and Richard Krasnick and his partner Lynne Tolman of Worcester; and grandsons Aaron Krasnick and his wife Haley Dercher of New Jersey and Ben Krasnick and his fiancée Monica Zielinski of Somerville. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by their daughter Karen, and his brothers, Adolph Krasnick and Solomon Krasnick.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 in the chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, Dedham Street, Sharon.
Memorial observance will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Acton.
