James P. Toomey, 52, of Manchester, died January 12, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a sudden illness.
He was born in Cambridge, MA on January 27, 1963 to the late Joseph and Maryellen (Little) Toomey. He grew up in Cambridge and lived there many years until moving to Manchester 15 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1981 to 1989 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
James worked at Hitachi Cable Incorporated in Manchester for the last five years. He enjoyed hockey and time spent with his family.
The family includes his wife of 16 years, Margaret E. (Kelleher) Toomey of Manchester; two children, Brian P. Toomey, stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in Yuma, AZ and Maryellen Toomey of Manchester; two siblings, Joseph R. Toomey III of Waltham, MA and Kimberly Luisi of Melrose, MA; his step father, Harold Ameral of Woburn, MA; a niece, Sofia Luisi; a daughter by heart, Bailey Soucy; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral ceremony was held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.
