Dilly, Otto Joseph, 85, of Louisville; born: January 18, 1930, died: January 12, 2016.
Otto got his final wish when he passed away at his home of 58 years sitting in his kitchen chair. He overcame a three month hospitalization for kidney disease at 9 years old; the early death of his father; several years in an orphanage; and the effects of The Great Depression to provide a loving home life for 66 years for his wife, Jane, and their five children. He had a resourceful mind and enjoyed many varied interests that culminated in creative projects.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jane (Bramlet) Dilly; five children, Linda M. Miller (Tom), Stephen A. Dilly (Elisa), David A. Dilly, Carole L. Dunn and George A. Dilly (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Ryan M. Patterson (Jamie Beard), Evan M. Patterson, Matthew R. Dilly (Christen), Michael E. Dilly, Nathan A. Dilly (Cassie), Geoffrey A. Dilly, and Benjamin A. Dilly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 A.M. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday 3:00 – 7:00 PM and Saturday after 10:00 A.M.
