Obituary

Raymond E. "Ray" Levesque, 75, resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away on Monday, January 11th, 2016 at the Lawrence General Hospital.

He was born on April 20th, 1940 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, son of the late Emilien and Laura (Desrosiers) Levesque. Ray was educated in Saint Anne's Grammar School and was a 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Central Catholic High School had dances at the school where the Saint Mary's High School Girls would attend. Ray met and fell in love with his future wife, Denise at one of these dances and they were married for 55 years.

He worked as a Machinist for Oxford Paper Mill from 1960 -1968 and then as a Supervisor for Bay State Gas Company from 1968 until his retirement in 1995. Ray was a parishioner of Saint Anne's Church, after it closed he attended Saint Theresa's Church, Saint Francis Church, and various other churches in the area, he was very faithful about attending church every morning.

He was a member of the Lawrence Elks BPO #65, and the Fireman's Relief Inn, Ray was known as "Ray the Pin Striper", his specialty was truck lettering, his business card said, "Ray Stripes Again". He enjoyed wood carving and wood work, he was a "Jack of all Trades". He was an avid Pool Player, it was his passion. He enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, they were the love of his life.

Ray was predeceased by his daughter in 2003 Raena M. Levesque

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, January 14th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 15th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA.
