Estelle (Monge) Ramos, 80, resident of Garland, TX died January 3, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of the late Louis Ramos.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 27, 1935, the daughter of the late Francisco and Antonia Monge, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Texas in 2008.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Ramos was formerly employed as a nurse's aide at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Brumfield and her husband Michael of Garland, TX; a brother, Louie Monge and his wife China of Long Island, NY; a sister, Delia Ganeto of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Janay and Michael Brumfield; a great-granddaughter, Zoey Edwards; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Ramos of New Bedford and Thomas Barreto of New York; three sisters-in-law, Mary Soares, Elizabeth Burgo and Dorothy Gomes, all of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Cecelia Barreto and sister-in-law of the late John Ramos, Joseph Ramos, Ceasar Ramos, Manuel Ramos and Kathleen Lopes.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6th at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
