Robert P. Burke, age 63, of Pembroke, formerly Quincy, passed away on January 10th in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston and raised in Quincy, Robert was the devoted son of the late Francis and Stella (LeGrice) Burke. Beloved husband of Patricia J. (McCann) Burke. Loving father of four sons Shawn Michael and wife Amanda of Quincy, Joseph Leo and wife Nichole of Weymouth, Jeffrey Robert and loving companion Vanessa Makseyn of Weymouth, and Stephen Francis of Providence, Rhode Island. Loving brother of Edward and Marilyn of Hamden, Donald and Marty of Nebraska, Denise Wells of Quincy, Neil and Sally of North Carolina, Laurence and Vicki of Scituate, and Kenneth and loving companion Nancy Radigan of Winchendon. Adoring Pops to Jacob, Alyssa, Samantha and Nathan. Cherished uncle to many nieces, notably Michelle McCann of Boston and Alyson Kutz of North Andover, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Bob graduated from North Quincy High School in 1971 and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 25 for 30 years and retired from Martignetti's Liquors after 20 years. Bob’s favorite things to do included adventures with his grandchildren, hosting celebrations at the lake, and touring New England’s lighthouses. Bob lived his life to the fullest and his passion for living was contagious. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by the many whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Monday January 18 at 8:00AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in the St. Joseph the Worker Church, Maquan St., Hanson. Visitation will be held on Sunday January 17 from 3:00-7:00 PM.
