Obituary

CHICOPEE – Mary T. (Bowler) Lorraine, 87, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, January 10, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on March 24, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late James P. and Helen (Sullivan) Bowler. She was raised in Holyoke and graduated from the former Sacred Heart High School. She lived in Holyoke until 1963 when she moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee. She was last employed as a bookkeeper at the former Hadley Falls Trust Company in South Hadley and had previously worked for the Digital Corporation in Westfield. During her leisure time, Mary was often seen at many local bingo games and always frequented the Knights of Columbus Bingo on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend of 48 years, Anthony J. Lorraine who was Called Home on March 1, 1997. Besides her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her loving grandson, Patrick Miskiv who was Called Home in 1978; her three dear brothers, James Bowler, Joseph Bowler and Daniel Bowler; and her dear sister, Joan Woods. She leaves her two loving children, Sharon A. Miskiv and her husband, Michael, of Edgartown and Daniel J. Lorraine and his companion, Denise Cavanaugh, of Chicopee; her two loving grandchildren, Michael Miskiv and his wife, Alison, and Marlene Dejesus and her husband, Ed; her four cherished great-grandchildren, Matthew, McKenzie, Cannon and Maxx; her three dear brothers, Thomas Bowler, John Bowler and George Bowler and his wife, Cathy, all of Holyoke; her two dear sisters, Eileen Festa and her husband, Joseph, and Elizabeth Frisino, all of Holyoke; her three dear sisters-in-law, Peggy Bowler, Phyllis Bowler and Avis Bowler, all of Holyoke; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Lorraine and Bowler families. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Fairview Cemetery, Abbey Memorial Drive, Chicopee, MA 01013. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
