Eric R. Day of Boston, MA, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the age of 46.
Eric was born to parents Robert and Doris on March 1st, 1969 in Portland, ME. He grew up as the youngest of four and attended Deering High School. Eric received his Bachelor's Degree in History and Political Science on May 11th, 1996, from the University of Southern Maine. He then received a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Frank Sawyer School of Management on May, 24th, 1998.
Eric worked for the Department of Unemployment Assistance, helping others when they needed it most. He was a very special person that was always carrying a smile on his face. In 2013, he married Camilo Vasquez, and in 2014 they traveled to Colombia to meet Camilo's friends and family.
Helping others was very important to Eric. He volunteered at various events, including the Atlanta Olympics and The Boston Marathon. He always expressed his sympathy with the victims of the Boston Bombing and he mentioned that he wanted to keep his Boston Strong bracelet forever until the end. He loved his country and was extremely patriotic, making sure to honor important events like the attack on Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Veteran's Day, and 9/11.
Per his family's wishes, there will be no public viewing. Friends and family are invited to attend an informal remembrance ceremony at Good Life on 28 Kingston St, Boston, MA 02111 on Wednesday, January 20th, at 7:00 PM. A Mass will also be held in Eric's name at Saint Francis Chapel on 800 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02199 on Sunday, February 7th, at 11:45 AM.
