Obituary

Mary M. (Geran) Hayes DeLucia, 77, of Plainville died suddenly, January 9 in her home. She was the wife of Ralph F. DeLucia.
Born in Holyoke, April 15, 1938, the daughter of the late Timothy A. and Hazel (Grandy) Geran , Mrs. Hayes DeLucia was raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, and had lived in Norwood for many years before moving to Foxboro and then to Plainville where she had lived for the past 10 years.
A Registered Nurse, she had graduated from Bridgewater State College.
Mary had been a Public Health Inspector for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for several years before retiring. She had previously worked at the Wrentham Developmental Center as Director of Nurses.
She enjoyed photography, being on her computer, blues music, gardening and her family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Maureen Simons of North Weymouth, Daniel Hayes and his wife Laurie of Norfolk and Joseph Hayes of Cumberland, Rhode Island.
She was the sister of the late Eugene Geran and Elizabeth Chaulk.
Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordan, Kasi, Jamie, Andrew, Craig and Michael and her great-grandson Liam.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 15 in St. Mary’s Church, Church Square, Franklin at 10:00.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
