Obituary

Whitman – Theresa R. (Chernicki) Flynn 83, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Friday January 8 after a brief period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul F. Flynn. She was a member of the Whitman VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Whitman Mother’s Club.

Born and raised in South Boston she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Stambrowski) Chernicki.

She worked at Millie's Lunch and volunteered at the Whitman Public Library. She was a communicant of the Holy Ghost Church, where for many years she had sung with the church choir.

She enjoyed sewing, painting, crafting but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She created beautiful treasures and warm loving memories that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her loving children Elaine Flynn of Nantucket, Stephen Flynn of Green Harbor, Paula Milewski of Whitman and Maureen Glynn and her husband Michael of Pembroke and her brother Joseph Chernicki of Quincy. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Flynn, Alexandra Flynn, Emily Milewski, David Milewski, Elizabeth Flynn, Aidan Glynn and Liam Glynn as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings William, Walter and John Chernicki and Ida McDonald, Jeanette Mitchell and Frances Briittle


Her services will be held Friday January 15 at 9:45 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday January 14 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
