Linda L. Phelps, 70, of Chester, NH, died Saturday January 9, 2016 in her home. She was born in Derry, NH on June 3, 1945, a daughter of the late Omer and Renza (Chaplin) Newcomb. Linda had been a resident of Chester since 2004, formerly living in Derry. She had worked for many years for Hadco Printed Circuits in Derry and Insight Technologies in Londonderry. Linda loved to knit and crochet, and was an avid Food Network-Aholic. She loved to go on cruises with her family, as well as trips to Disney World. Linda was an avid collector of Disney globes.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Phelps of Chester; her son, Keith Phelps and his wife Maria of Chester; two daughters, Tami Tandy and her husband Charles of Colchester, VT, and Christine Legare and her husband Neil of Petersham, MA; seven grandchildren; her brother, Wayne Newcomb of Allenstown, NH; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Thursday, January 14th from 8:30 - 9:30am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial followed at 10:30am in St. Peter's Church, Manchester Rd., Auburn, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude, Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
