Lawrence,MA - Miss Mary E. Herlihy died peacefully on January 9,2016 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, Lawrence MA after a
brief illness.
Born April 21,1927 to the late Jerome and Mary (Slattery) Herlihy of Wakefield, MA. Mary worked for many
years in the Comptroller's Office at the Massachusetts State House in Boston, MA. She previously worked
at John Hancock Mutual Life in Boston, MA.
Mary's favorite pasttime was reading, knitting and feeding all kinds of animals. She followed all Boston
sports teams closely and loved anything Irish.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Timothy J Herlihy of Tewksbury, MA and John F Herlihy and his wife,
Mitzi Herlihy of Winchester, MA and a grand nephew,Justin Choiniere of Stratham, NH.
Mary is survived by sister-in-law,Barbara A Herlihy-Chevalier of Hudson, NH, 5 nieces and 5 nephews,
8 grand nieces and 6 grand nephews and 1 great grand niece and 1 great grand nephew residing in NH and MA. She will be missed by many relatives "across the pond" in Ireland.
At Mary's request there are no calling hours or funeral. A Mass will be scheduled in the near future.
