Obituary

Bruce R. Jarvis, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the home of his daughter in West Boylston. His wife of 30 years, Nancy (Freudenthal) Jarvis predeceased him in 1996. Bruce is survived by his children- son, Brett Jarvis and his wife Tia of Byron, GA, daughter Kimberly Pino and her husband Jonathan of West Boylston and daughter Jennifer LaPointe and her husband Edward III of Dudley. He also leaves 7 grandchildren- Sara, Tyler, Kyle, and Sean Jarvis, Benjamin and Nicholas Pino, and Edward LaPointe IV; a sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Fran Joslyn; many nieces and nephews; and his dear friends on Heritage Lane.

Bruce was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late John and Annie Jarvis. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a machinist for Norton Co and then for O.S. Walker Co., from which he retired after 35 years. Bruce was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed his trips with the West Boylston Sr. Center, cookouts, lunches with friends, movies, and especially the time spent with his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster St. Worcester. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be held privately at All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
