Maria E Reed, 65, of Medford, MA, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, on February 21, 1950, a daughter of the late Eduardo “Eddy” Merced and Elena Rodriguez.
She is survived by her daughter, Arelis Abreau; three sons, Omar Abreu, Orlando Abreu, and Andrew C. Reed; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Josephine DeJesus, Irma Merced Rodriguez, and Casilda Merced Quadros; two brothers, Eduardo Merced and Roberto Santiago; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Coleman C. Reed in January 2015.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Council Fund at Courtyard Nursing Care Center, 200 Governors Ave., Medford, MA 02155.
