Jean M. Lalone, 79, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday January 6, 2016 in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. She was born in Revere, MA on February 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Morse. She had been a resident of Derry for the past two years, formerly living in Amherst, NH, Hawaii, and Revere where she graduated from Revere High School. Jean was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital, was a very good ukelele player, and a master crocheter. She enjoyed collecting anything relating to elephants. Jean was well known as a fiesty, tell it like it is spirit, who loved and adored children. She was a life member of the Church of St. Anthony in Revere, and a member of the AARP.
She is survived by her son, Richard C. Lalone and his wife Ella of San Antonio, TX; her grandchildren, "Little" Richard Lalone, Briana Lalone, and Brandon Lalone of San Antonio TX; many nieces, nephews and cousins including her niece Betty; as well as the Chesson family; her best friend Alice Moran of Amherst; and Luke and April Biancaniello and family with whom she made her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Lalone; her son, Christopher L. Lalone; and her siblings, Arthur, Clarence, Marie, Dorothy, Barbara and Nadelyn.
Calling hours were held on Monday, January 11th from 9 - 11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 11:00am in the funeral home, with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
