Obituary

Agnes C. (Provencher) Orlowski, 84 of Salem, passed away peacefully at the NSMC/ Salem Hospital with her family by her side on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was the devoted wife of Chester A. Orlowski with whom she shared nearly 60 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (LaBonte) Provencher, and the oldest of five children. Her family was extremely important to her, and she was always there for them. Agnes first worked for the former Beverly Motor Sales of Beverly. Following her marriage to Chester in 1956, she devoted her time to raising her three children. She returned to work as an administrative assistant for the Salem Hospital, and remained there for over thirty-five years, working in several different departments.

Agnes loved her family and traveling. She was able to visit many countries all over the world during her life, and together with Chester they enjoyed many cruises. She enjoyed ceramics and crafts and was always willing to try something new. She would never turn down a trip to a casino to play the poker machines. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends, many of whom were her traveling companions. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Catherine A. Orlowski of Cranston, RI & Carol A. Schaufler and her husband Steven of Salem, her son John C. Orlowski and long time companion Tina Foundas of Guildhall, VT, her granddaughter, Francheska Schaufler, her great-grandson Kayden Mejia and her sister, Patricia Wood and her husband Tom of Marion, IL.
