Lorenzo DeSantis of Medford died on Tuesday, January 5, at the Winchester Hospital. Born and raised in Via Mastroiavacovo, Introdacqua Province L'Aquila, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and the Antonina DeSantis. Lorenzo lived in Dorchester and Boston's North End before settling in Medford. He was employed as mason and was a member of Local 534.
Lorenzo was the beloved husband of Maria DeSantis and the devoted father of Domenic DeSantis and his wife O'Maira of Columbia, Adelia Del Trecco and her husband Carmine of Stoneham, and Linda DeSantis of Newton. He was the loving grandfather of Nicholas Lorenzo and Michael Carmine Del Trecco, and the brother of Maria Schiavo and Ilda Federico, both of Italy, Concezio DeSantis of Brooklyn, NY and Onelia Federico of Medford. Lorenzo is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, January 9 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, January 8, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
