Fall River – Clement M. “Manny” Amaral, age 76 of New Bedford, passed away on Monday January 4, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Beverly (Goes) Amaral and the son of the late Leonora (Ferreira) and Jose Amaral.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, Mr. Amaral came to this country in 1953 and worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight Systems for many years until his retirement. Clement belonged to the National Guard Retirees, Teamsters Union Local 251 and the Mount Carmel Seniors.
His family includes, his wife, Beverly Amaral of New Bedford; 4 children: Lynn Amaral of New Bedford; Adeline Rego and her husband, Paul, of Dartmouth, Clement Amaral and his wife, Kim, of New Bedford and Laurie Young and her husband, Bruce, of Florida; 2 siblings: Maria Alexandria Sylvia of Buffalo, NY and the late Mary Francois; as well as 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be on Monday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
