Margaret Elizabeth Moore Watson, 85, of Ty Ty went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Ty Ty First Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Owens and Rev. Justin Devereaux officiating. Mrs. Watson will be laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Ty Ty First Baptist Church.
Eric Willis, Ben Watson, Joseph Watson, Joshua Gordon, Joseph Gordon, Andrew Gordon and Mike Selph will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 10, 1930 in Towns County, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Thomas Authur Moore and Lillie Mae Johnson Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Rucker Watson; two brothers, Wayne Moore and Willis Moore; and two sisters, Ezra Jones and Rena Sims. She was a homemaker and member of Ty Ty First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed so much being in the choir and working with the children of the church.
Mrs. Watson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Cindy Watson of Ty Ty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret E. “Peggy” and Frank Willis of Ty Ty and Margie and Garland Gordon of Thomasville; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Eric and Megan Willis, Emily Willis, Ben and Jessica Watson, Anna Katherine and Mike Selph, Joseph Watson, Josh and Christy Gordon and Joe and Shannon Gordon; and nine great-grandchildren, Caleb Willis, Micah Willis, Sadie Willis, Ella Selph, Kate Selph, Andrew Selph, Andrew Gordon, Madeline Gordon and Sam Gordon.
Mrs. Watson’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia and to Hospice of Tift Area for the care of their mother.
