Gumersindo "Dodo" Aguelo Ouano, 81, of Tifton passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, at his residence. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Ouano at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Zion Hope Baptist Church in Tifton with Rev. Michael Slaven officiating. Mr. Ouano will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Friday, January 8, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Zion Hope Baptist Church in Tifton.
Born January 13, 1934 in Maasin, Southern Leyte, Philippines, Mr. Ouano was the son of the late Joaquin Ouano, Sr. and Enrica Aguelo Ouano. He was retired as the school cashier and maintenance supervisor at St. Scholastica’s Academy. He loved to fish and bowl and also served as a volleyball coach.
Mr. Ouano is survived by his wife, Juana Abella Ouano of Tifton; two sons, Joseph Ouano and Roberto Ouano, both of Cebu, Philippines; a daughter and son-in-law, Josephine Ouano Hodnett and husband, Nick of Tifton; three brothers, Benito Ouano of San Francisco, California, Joaquin Ouano, Jr. of Leyte, Philippines and Jacinto Ouano of Cebu, Philippines; five sisters, Asuncion Ouano of California, Dr. Margarita Ouano of Cebu, Philippines, Carmelita Ouano of California, Socorro Ouano Perez of Michigan and Lourdes Ouano of Cebu, Philippines; and eight grandchildren, Carolina, Karen Mae, Stonewall, Carlie Joy, Dimple, Dave, Darrell and Wesley.
