James “Jimmy” P. Oliveira, age 94, of Fall River, passed away on Thursday December 31, 2015. He was the husband of the late Lena (Assiff) Oliveira, and son of the late Manuel P. and Mary (Faria) Oliveira. He was a shipper at Midland Print and after retiring he worked part time at the Somerset Post Office in Maintenance. James was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed going to Foxwoods and dancing.
He is survived by his daughter; Donna Morris, granddaughters; Shelley Botelho (husband Jeff), and Jodi Tabicas (husband George), great-grandchildren; Karissa, Nick, Brittney, Brooke, and Madison, sister; Mary Santos, several nieces and nephews and longtime companion Alice Bishop. He was also the brother of the late Manuel Oliveira, and Alice Leite.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Name Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Calling hours on Monday from 5-8 P.M.
