Obituary

Roger J. Bullock, CPA
Of Cape Neddick, ME, formerly of Arlington, Hudson and Hopkinton, MA, passed away at home with his family on December 31, 2015, at the age of 74. Roger is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife, and soulmate of 53 years, Diane (Salvucci) Bullock.

Born in Winchester, MA, Roger was the son of the late Henry and Pauline (Marx) Bullock, and was pre-deceased by his brother Eugene of York, ME. Roger graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, MA in 1959. He attained his B.S. degree in Accounting from Bentley University.

A long-time resident of Massachusetts, Roger began his career as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service. He started his own accounting firm, where some of his first clients included the “Boston” Patriots and 7up Bottling Company. Over the course of 40 years, Roger’s practice grew, and he was proud to count many of his long-time clients as friends. He served on the finance committee of the Town of Hudson, MA, was a member of the Hudson Garden Club, and volunteered his time on many projects in the Town of Hudson.

Roger and Diane’s love of the Maine Coast, where they spent their summers for all of their lives, brought them to “retire” in Cape Neddick. Roger served as the Treasurer for the Friends of York Public Library.

Along with his head for numbers, Roger was a master woodworking craftsman, philatelist, numismatist, and lover of fine clocks. He maintained an extensive library, and was a voracious reader of history of the Civil War, World Wars I & II, the great presidents and Gilded Age financial tycoons. He enjoyed good black & white westerns, as well as many styles of music. He delighted in traveling extensively within Britain and Scotland with Diane, where they explored the countrysides and castles, learned how the great cathedrals were built, and shared many experiences and laughs with British relatives and friends. Roger loved to be outdoors, and could often be found working in the garden with Diane. Roger loved to cheer the Red Sox and Patriots to win!

Roger is also survived by his children, Elaine Boudreau of Novi, MI, Scott Bullock of Uxbridge, MA, and Nancy Bullock and husband Gregory Law of Mars, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mia, Renee, and Kristen Boudreau, Thomas and Jeremy Bullock, as well as step grandchildren Nicole, Anthony, Baker and Isabella Law, and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews.

Roger’s family would like to thank the staffs of Hospice of York Hospital, York Hospital Oncology Treatment Center, and York Hospital for their kind and compassionate care through Roger’s illness. Special thanks to Cheryl and Al (and the alpacas) for the many hours of smiles and laughter during chemotherapy, and to Patty and Mary for their attentive home care.
