WEST Claire A. (Riley) of Sun City Center, FL, formerly a resident of West Roxbury and Roslindale, MA, died peacefully on December 30, 2015, one day before her 97th birthday.
Claire was the daughter of the late Mary & Harold Riley of West Roxbury She was the devoted wife of the late John R. West, a former Deputy Superintendent of the Boston Police Department.
Claire was the loving mother of the late John R. West Jr. and the late Maureen C. West Webster. She is survived by her son-in-law Ross M. Webster of Manakin Sabot,VA and her beloved grandsons Kevin of Manakin Sabot and Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer of Westminster, MD. She is also survived by her cherished great-grandsons Jake and Luke Webster of Westminster, MD.
Claire loved music and dancing and was an active participant in the social events offered by the home where she resided. Mr. Jesse Flores, her long time companion, escorted her to these events as well as to the dining room on a daily basis.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA., on Monday, January 4, 2016, visitation from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, followed by a service in Claire's memory in the funeral home beginning at 12 Noon . Burial immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
