Pamela Golden Taylor, 62, of Sumiton, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at her residence. She was a member of Sumiton Church of God, where she served as teacher for the New Converts class; she was also the leader of the Greeter Ministries. She was the Women’s Ministries director for 16 years in several states. She was the First Lady of churches in Maine, Maryland, and Florida.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Sumiton Church of God. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 p.m. until service time. A funeral service will also be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 5, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado. Mrs. Taylor will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Elmer E. Golden, Sr. and Geneva Dorough Golden.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Rev. J. Martin Taylor; children, Jennifer Taylor Fickett (Chad), Carrie Taylor Bowyer (Josh) and Joshua Martin Taylor; grandchildren, Joshua Alan Bowyer, Jr., Caden Seth Bowyer, Madison Faith Bowyer, Hailey Grace Bowyer and Joshua Luke Taylor; sister, Linda Golden Hill; brother, Rev. Elmer E. Golden, Jr.; several nieces, nephews and her constant companion, her dog Dixie.
