Dana William Black, 70 of Hampstead, NH passed away Wednesday December 30, 2015 in Hampstead, NH. Born in Bath, ME on May 30, 1945 to Alton C. Black and Fern (Nickels) Black of Lynn, MA. Raised and lived in Lynn, MA and moved to Danville, NH in 1979 with his family and made Hampstead, NH his final home town. He has been a long time member of the Teamsters Local 42. He loved the outdoors and tinkering with things. He enjoyed being a member of the Plaistow Fish & Game Club in Plaistow, NH for many years. He spent time with family and friends in Harrington, Machias and Cherryfield, ME on many hunting trips and summer vacations.
He is survived by daughters Deborah Black of Manchester, NH, Suzanne Black of Hampstead, NH and Jennie Fitzpatrick of Londonderry, NH. He will be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Travis, Sarah and Justin Fitzpatrick, children of Jennie and Richard Fitzpatrick. His brother and sister-in-law, Richard Black and Sharon Welch of Lynn, MA and many nieces and nephews of his two brothers and their children. He also leaves his former wife, Kathleen Perry of Manchester. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Black and grandson, Max Owen Fitzpatrick.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Tuesday January 5, 2016 from 5 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 814 Elm St., Suite 300, Manchester, NH 03101-2230.
