Yvonne (Bourassa) Eddy, age 88 of Lawrence passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 30, 2015. Yvonne was born on February 24, 1927 in Lawrence to the late Henry and Annette (Dumont) Bourassa. Mrs. Eddy was a very giving person, she donated much of her time working bingo at several local churches, including; Sacred Heart Church, St. Patrick’s Church and Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish of Methuen. Yvonne was a very dedicated and loving caregiver to her family. Yvonne along with her husband Verne, for many years enjoyed monthly trips to Foxwoods. Mrs. Eddy will always be remembered as an excellent baker, she was lovingly known as The Black Moon Lady. For over twenty years she would spend several weeks prior to Christmas Eve baking breads for Verne aka Santa Claus to deliver to many family and friends throughout the night.
Yvonne was the beloved wife of the late Verne Eddy for sixty one years. She was the loving mother of Edward Eddy and his wife Lorna of Phoenix, AZ, Susan Coco of Lawrence, Earl Eddy and his wife Barbara of Dracut and the late Linda Daley and her surviving husband Barry. Mrs. Eddy was the dear sister of Gloria Bongiorno , Annette Chakurmanian , Rita Beaudoin. Yvonne was predeceased by sisters Alice Giragisian and Theresa Cornu. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many great- grandchildren, several great- great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the many caregivers who with great dedication provided exceptional care for Yvonne, and a special thank you to Lisa Bradshaw, Nurse Practitioner with Merrimack Valley Hospice with her compassion and guidance enabled Yvonne to remain at home these last few years.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Church, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen. Interment to follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Cemetery of Lawrence.
