Florence E. King Lawrence, 87, of Worth County, formerly of Tifton, Georgia, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at her residence.
Graveside memorial services will be held 11 A. M., Monday, January 4, 2016, in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Mrs. Lawrence was born September 9,1932 in Tift County, Georgia to the late Foster Perry King and Mildred Powell King. She was a former Miss Avondale Estates. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed swimming and going to the beach. A member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, she was a wonderful friend to many and will be remembered as an excellent cook. During her career she worked for many years as a Paraprofessional at the Horizon Academy (CPES). Through her work she was able to teach several autistic children to talk.
She is survived by a daughter, Mildred Lawrence of Tifton; a grandson, Sean Lawrence, U.S. Navy and wife Erin Smith Lawrence; two great grandsons; and her care givers Randall and Tammy Barton.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William David Lawrence and a son William David Lawrence, Jr.
