Obituary

Edward J. D’Angelo, 84, of Old Country Road in Smithfield, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home.
Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Carmelo and Marianna (Campagna) D’Angelo. He had made his home in Smithfield for the last 30 years previously living in Burrillville. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He had worked with Colibri Manufacturing for 15 years before retiring. He also served as the Chairman of the Republican Party for the Town of Burrillville, and served as a State Representative for the Town of Burrillville from 1974 to 1976. A faithful member of the Smithfield Elks Lodge #2359, his nineteen year membership included service as the Exalted Ruler for two years.

He is survived by his beloved children, Michael D’Angelo of Florida, Andrew D’Angelo of Smithfield, Peter D’Angelo of Johnston and Andrea D’Angelo of Clemont, FL, his grandsons, Nicholas D’Angelo and Neal D’Angelo both of Smithfield, and his siblings, Albert D’Angelo of Florida, and Frances D’Angelo of Smithfield. He is predeceased by his brothers, Antonio, Alfred, Frank and James D’Angelo.
His funeral will be held Monday 8am from ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial 9am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial with military honors will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Sunday 4-6pm.
