Jesse P. Witaszek, age 86, passed away on Dec. 24, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on Mar. 29, 1929 in Poland. He was a son of the late Joseph and Tekla Witaszek. Jesse served in the US Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a shipping supervisor at Westvaco for many years before he retired. He leaves his loving wife Natalie (Rabschnuk) Witaszek of Chicopee; his daughter Sandra Kaufmann of Chicopee; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Zdroykowski and his wife Lauren, Shaun Zdroykowski and his wife Betsy, Sarah Kostanski and her husband Joe and Samantha Pepe and her husband Brian. He also leaves 6 great grandchildren. Jesse is predeceased by his 2 sons, Jesse Witaszek and Frederick Zdroykowski. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Sat. Jan. 2, 2016 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Memorial Mass will follow in St Ann’s Church at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in St Stanislaus Cemetery.
