Alfreda “Freda” D. Russell Horton, 55, of Irwinville passed away Monday, December 28, 2015, in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Mrs. Horton will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 1, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Andy Russell, Daniel Jackson, Brad Russell, Lebran Russell, Adam Wright, Jessie Harris, Craig Harpe, Michael Horton and Sam Russell will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 10, 1960 in Lafayette, GA, Mrs. Horton was the daughter of the late W. A. Russell and Bebe Harper Russell. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Randall Eugene Jackson. Before being disabled in 1997, she was manager of the Sanitation Site for Tift County.
Mrs. Horton is survived by her husband, Perry Jim Horton of Irwinville; a step-son, James Michael Horton of Tifton; two daughters, Jennifer Marie Jackson Bryant and husband, Arthur of Fitzgerald and Sandra “Sandy” Elaine Jackson of Irwinville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, W. D. “Dan” and Lynn Russell and Bates and Betty Russell, all of Tifton; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces Melissa Steedley Harpe and Amy C. Wright, both of Tifton.
