Obituary

Bobby G. Hammond, 87, of Macon, Georgia, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Dr. Brad Marchman officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hammond was born October 11, 1928, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late C.T. & Anna Belle Hyde Hammond. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was stationed in Austria during the Korean War. He retired after 35 years of service with Butler Auto Parts and Butler Paint Company. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains. He was ordained a deacon at New Elim Baptist Church and was an active member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and the Brannon Sunday school class.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances Hammond of Macon; a nephew, Jimmy & Vicki Passmore of Chester, Virginia; brother-in-law, Waldo & Ginny Paulk of Ocilla; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Hammond Passmore and a nephew, Ronnie Passmore.
