Edward Logan Joyal, 86, formerly of Morin Road died Thursday morning, June 9, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. Born in Laconia April 14, 1919 he was raised and schooled here the son of the late Charles F. and Sadie (Colby) Joyal, and had been a resident of Laconia for most of his life.
Edward was employed by Scott & Williams for 35 years retiring in 1984. He also worked at the Allen Rogers Corporation, and Morin Mills. He also helped construct the Gunstock Recreation Area with the CCC during the war.
Edward was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia, and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, Laconia Council, No.48. He was the 1972 State Cribbage Champion.
He was predeceased by his wife Beatrice (Couture) Joyal in 1996, as well as his 3 brothers, and 7 sisters. He is survived by three sons, Rodney Joyal of Brewer, Maine, James “Jim” Joyal, and Robert Joyal both of Laconia. 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, on Monday June 13, 2005 at 10:30 am. Rev. Albert J. Tremblay, Jr. officiated. A visiting hour was held from 9:00 am-10:00 at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia, prior to the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
