Letty M. Harrington, an 85 year resident of Medford, entered into eternal life on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2015 at Wingate in Reading Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was 93 years old.
Letty was born in Castletownbere, County Cork, Ireland on June 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph Harrington and Emma (Harrington) Harrington. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 4 with her family and settled at Cedar Road North in Medford where she has lived for the last 85 years. Letty attended the Immaculate Conception Parochial School in Malden and graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Malden in 1941. Letty was employed as an insurance analyst and cared for her parents for many years.
Letty is the beloved sister of the late Ann Stuart, Timothy Harrington, Daniel Harrington and Mary Jones. She is the caring aunt to her numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Letty's Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10 A.M. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford. Her burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Stoneham. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2 to 4 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown.
