Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON - Hilda A. Robinson, lifelong and eldest resident of West Boylston, died at the age of 101 years on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. Her surviving family members include Nancy Robinson of West Boylston, Ronald and Leah Robinson of Sterling, and Anne and Barry Huston of New Hampshire. Hilda also leaves many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl L. and Hugh M. Robinson, a sister, Vira B. Kallander, her nephew Richard Robinson, and her niece Sandra Champagne.

Hilda was born in Dennysville, Maine, moved to W. Boylston as a child, and graduated from Major Edwards High School. She worked for the Town of West Boylston Highway Department for many years. In 1951 she served as Assistant Town Clerk, then became Town Clerk and Assistant Treasurer all while remaining as a clerk for the highway department.

Hilda was an avid Red Sox Fan. She will be remembered for her delicious bread pudding, trips to Friendly’s, and her love of animals.

A private graveside service will held at High Plains Cemetery in Oakdale at a later date. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. BOYLSTON ST., WEST BOYLSTON, is assisting the family with arrangements.
