Obituary

BEVERLY: William S. Fumarola, Jr., 77, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Polly E. (Fillmore) Fumarola.
Born in Beverly on April 17, 1938 he was the son of the late William S., Sr. and Elizabeth (Blouin) Fumarola. He was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1956. He had also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Bill was employed as the finance manager at Peabody Chrysler and Sudbay Motors in Gloucester for many years. He was also once a salesman at Kelly’s Nissan in Beverly and worked as a carpenter doing kitchens and baths.
He was an active member of the Cardinals Drum and Bugle Corps and loved to play Santa at Toys R Us in Peabody and Element Care (formerly PACE) in Beverly for many years.
In addition to his wife of fifty-six years, he is survived by his daughter, Carmella “Melle” Lauranzano of Beverly; his son, William S. Fumarola, III and his wife, Suzanne of Chester, NH; five grandchildren, Nikki Lauranzano and her fiancé, Will Toothaker, Kyle Lauranzano and his fiancée, Kristina Cole, Rico Lauranzano, Kasey Fumarola and Taylor Fumarola; three brothers, Paul Fumarola and his wife, Vivian, Gary Fumarola and his wife, Joan and Brian Fumarola and his companion, Linda Squibb and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church 253, Cabot St., Beverly at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
