BAR MILLS- Rowland Arthur Turgeon Sr., age 90, of Towle St., longtime truck driver, passed away on
December 27, 2015 at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Waterboro on July 28, 1925, son of the late Delphis and Leontine (Ouellette) Turgeon, and graduated from Waterboro schools.
Rowland will always be remembered for the enjoyment he had reading the newspaper, hunting and fishing, traveling to Nova Scotia, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his beloved wife- Virginia (Dunnell) Turgeon; children- Rowland Turgeon Jr. and his wife Tammy of Bar Mills, Doreen Hunt and her husband Edward of Cape Elizabeth, Richard Turgeon and his partner Kelly of Waterboro, and Debra Hanson and her husband Lenny of Baileyville, ME; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
A celebration of Rowland's life will be held on Saturday Jan. 9, 2016 at 1 PM at the Orchard Church, 1 North St., Gorham. Pastor Gary Groves will officiate.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22), in Buxton. Burial will be at South Buxton Cemetery. Online condolence messages can be submitted at www.mainefuneral.com
