FALL RIVER – Antonio P. Furna, age 66, of Fall River, passed away on Dec. 24, 2015 at St. Anne’s Hospital. Born in Ribeira Seca de Ribeira Grande, São, Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Jaime Maciel Duarte Furna and Isabel Cabral (Pereira) Soares, and the former husband of Marie Fatima (Peixoto Lima) Furna. Prior to retiring, Antonio worked for the former Plymouth Rubber Co. as a machine operator. He was a Self-Made Business Owner of Furnas International Sales, an animal lover, and a very honest and charitable man. He was also a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church.
He is survived by his children: Sandra L., Susan L., and Tony L. Furna (wife Helen Pimentel Furna) all of Westport, MA; siblings: Maria Pinheiro of Westport, Helena Cabral of Somerville, and Jose Furna of Fall River; 1 grandson: Dustin Michael Swiader; several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Manuel Rogers & Sons funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
