Theresa Francis M. (Cormier) Rhodes, 90 of Lawrence died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Beth Israel -Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late James R, Rhodes with whom she had shared 57 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Isabel A. (Dowdell) Cormier. Married in 1944, Theresa lived most of her married life in the Greater Arlington Virginia, Washington DC area. She worked from 1956 to 1996 for the federal government as a library technician. Following the death of her husband and daughter, she returned to the North Shore and was a resident of the Atria of Merrimac Place in Newburyport. She most recently was a resident of Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Marie Rhodes, and sisters, Rose I. Bilodeau, Virginia Gagnon, Agnes B. Healey and her brother, Robert Cormier.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass on Monday, December 28, 2015 in St. James Chapel, 156 Federal St., Salem at 11:00 A.M. Burial at a later date will be private.
