Obituary

James W. Garland, 66 of Auburn, NH passed away Tuesday December 22, 2015 after battling health issues he just couldn't overcome. He was fondly known as "Grampy" or "Uncle Jim". He was the son of the late Lloyd and Alice (Burnett) Garland. He was raised and educated in Lynn, MA where he graduated from Lynn Trade School. He lived in Rowley and Topsfield, MA for many years before moving to Auburn seven years ago. He retired from GE in Lynn after 30 years of service. He enjoyed carpentry, photography, camping and especially time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Marilyn (Ayers) Garland of Auburn, two daughters, Kimberly Provencal and her husband Ronald of Auburn, and Leslie Scola and her husband Eric of Auburn, six grandchildren, Billy, Abi, Wyatt, Ellie, Ethan and Owen; his sister, Clara Harrison of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Garland.
Jim was a loving family man and friend of many. A person who would give his all to help you out and ask for nothing in return. Jim was happiest on one of his many, many shopping adventures. His love for his family knew no boundaries, and he would have gone to the end of time for them. Jim's passing will leave a void in the lives of all of us who have had the pleasure of knowing him, but the memories he has left us with will last forever.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4pm to 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn NH Fire Department.
