Ottilie “Ottie” Lina (Gutenberg) Furdeck, age 90, a resident of Tewksbury for over 45 years, passed away at home, with her family by her side, on Monday, December. 21, 2015.
Born in Hann-Munden, Germany on December 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Gutenberg and the late Lina (Prong) Gutenberg.
Ottie was raised in Hann-Munden, Germany and attended local schools.
She moved to Tewksbury in 1958, where she raised her family.
Ottie enjoyed gardening, swimming and her weekly bingo games at St. William’s Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Helina F. Houdlette and her husband Daniel and Doreen H. Simpson and her husband Ronald all of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Cameron F. and Corina S. Houdlette both of Tewksbury. Ottie also leaves one brother and two sisters who reside in Germany.
Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 27, from 2-6 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be Monday, Dec. 28, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her graveside service at 10 a.m. at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury.
