Clarisse J. (Phaneuf) Hurd, 88, of Westport died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living in Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of Ray L. Hurd.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, daughter of the late Joseph and Lea A. (Dufault) Phaneuf, she had lived in Westport since 1978 and had spent winters in Stuart, FL for over 20 years. A 1945 graduate of St. Xavier's Academy in Providence, she was an executive secretary with Julius Koch U.S.A. in New Bedford until her retirement. Mrs. Hurd was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. She enjoyed knitting, bowling and shuffle board.
Including her husband, survivors include 3 sons: Richard C. Hurd of Windsor, CT, Ronald J. Hurd of E. Taunton and James F. Hurd of N. Dartmouth; 2 daughters: Patricia L. Kehoe of N. Dartmouth and Joanne G. Thorpe of Portland, OR; a brother: Joseph C. Phaneuf of Port St. Lucie, FL; a sister: Constance M. Laite of Clearwater, FL; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
