Obituary

Dennis C. Delay, 65, of Manchester, NH died December 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Gardner, MA on June 17, 1950, he was the son of Philip and Marjorie (Bolster) Delay. He graduated Gardner High School in 1968 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Saint Anselm College in 1972. While a student at Saint Anselm, he was active with the Abbey Players.
Most recently, he had been an economist with the NH Center for Public Policy Studies. He had also been the NH Forecast Manager for the New England Economic Partnership (NEEP). He was an adjunct professor at New England College and Granite State College and had worked for Public Service of New Hampshire for many years.
Active in his community, he was a member of the Manchester Choral Society and a longtime parishioner of St. Raphael Church and director of the parish’s choir.
His winning smile, his glorious voice and his sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Family members include his wife and best friend of 34 years, Marilyn (White) Delay of Manchester; his treasured daughters, Mary C. Delay of Goffstown, Caitlin F. Delay of Manchester, and Dylan C. Delay of Columbus, OH; his mother, Marjorie Delay of Gardner, MA; a brother-in-law, Lawrence William White and his wife Sandra Ratcliffe of Dublin, Ireland; sisters-in-law, Christine Thorn and husband Bob of Paxton, MA, Cynthia Dixon and husband John of Stratham, NH, Carolyn Gamtso and husband Darjee of Manchester; his siblings, Deborah Gustafson, Drucilla Faucher, Deirdre Forte, Douglas Delay, David Delay and Daniel Delay; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his father Philip H. Delay.
The funeral service will be private and at a later date.
